The most important thing to study is your listener ear. You need study sounds and words pronunciation before learning the Ventriloquist alphabets. You want to be clear as possible when speaking with out moving your lips. Your. Tongue will do most of the work so instead of speaking using your lips your tongue will do the work of lips.

for the alphabet B you substitute the alphabet *D* practice this saying these lines with your little helper.

beginner Ventriloquist lines with no lip control, speak with moving your lips: billy bob is a baker..

say these lines with lip control with your little helper, your little helper move their lips and you try not to move yours: DILLY DOD IS A DAKER..

when you say Dilly use the tip of your tongue to make the word Dilly sound like the word billy, the reason your little helper is there is because in your character voice there is animation in your little helper voice and this will help you speak with out moving your lips more easily and a little bit more clear, as you practice with your little helper in front of a mirror you will see what I am talking about, one day you will see your little helper say billy bob is a baker, with out moving your lips,and you are going to be surprised at the illusion.

the letter F is substitute with the TH... you say frank friend Freddy with out lip control and then your little helper is going to say it while you try not to move your lips.. your little helper lines: THRANK THRIEND THREDDY....

your little helper voice will animate the R in frank and friend and Freddy this is why some Ventriloquism teachers say think one thing but say another, this means think about saying Freddy, so in the magic of Ventriloquism you're 🤔 thinking about saying the word friend but your little helper is talking creating the illusion to your listener or audience that they are hearing the word friend but they are actually hearing the word thriend.

as a ventriloquist you are a voice magician, you are a illusionist, the illusion is created with sound, using your audience eyes and ears are your tools to accomplish the illusion. when you use lip control, your lips are not moving so the audience use their eyes  to see where the voice is coming from, your Ventriloquist character mouth is moving, the voice must be coming from the Ventriloquist character, this audience beliefs is called the illusion of life.
