"CHARACTER VOICES IDEAS 💡". (for the beginner Ventriloquist)

sometimes students may become confused on how to create a character voice for their Ventriloquist character. I have some ideas for you that I used myself for you.

1. sit next to your Ventriloquist character and give it a voice as if it had constipation, yes this voice is a good voice for your Ventriloquist character because it's different from your very own voice.. even have your Ventriloquist character sing a song with a constipation voice..it is ok to keep the constipation voice for your character even after you have created more character voices.

2. I had a Ventriloquist character name stutter box junior, this character takes five minutes to say the words good morning... this character voice is the opposite of your very own....  good good good good good good good good good good good good good gggoooddd Good gooooooddd!! good... morning.

3. I once had a Ventriloquist character that whispered when it talked, when I asked my Ventriloquist character can you repeat that the character would yell and scream what they said and return back to a soft spoken whisper.
 
4. Your Ventriloquist character voice can be a slow talker..if you have a regular speaking voice have your Ventriloquist character speak slowly, sometimes you can finish the sentence for Ventriloquist character and your Ventriloquist character can nod it's head up and down to say yes...this character voice is definitely different from your very own voice because the audience can see the difference between who is talking.. sometimes after you finish the sentence for your slow talker, your Ventriloquist character can say I was going to say that!.
 These character voices will bring personality to the voice and the whole point of Ventriloquist character voices is to separate the Ventriloquist from the characters.

it's okay that your Ventriloquist character talk with an accent different from you if have an accent of the land.

It's okay that your Ventriloquist character uses words and vocabulary that no one never heard of, but you the Ventriloquist should correct the Ventriloquist character and be a guide for the audience or listener.

the secret of speech.. when on the subject of character voices is that the Ventriloquist can speak in his or her normal voice for Ventriloquist and character, when the Ventriloquist character has a different vocabulary or accent the audience can still recognize a separate identity between Ventriloquist and Ventriloquist character. 

as a beginner Ventriloquist your tools are the human ears -eyes and sound, yes silence is a sound...I would like to mention as a young Ventriloquist I did use the sense of smell in some of my Ventriloquist acts, if you can be a Ventriloquist artist of the human five senses then you are an artist of creative arts.
