HELP WITH REMEMBER YOUR LINES. how to deal with a brain fart. (for amateur Ventriloquists)

sometimes when we the Ventriloquist are performing on stage we might forget a joke or a song or what we are going to do on stage..this subject is for the amateur and believe or not I used these tips when I was a semi pro Ventriloquist.. these tips will help keep your Ventriloquist act moving with out delays.
Tips are not in order they will give you some ideas on how you can create your own or you can use these exactly the way they are.

tip: 1. use a Bluetooth or audio earphones in your ear so your assistant can help you when you are on stage, your assistant can be back stage or in the hallway listening, and when you need help, say a code word, and your assistant will speak to you in your Bluetooth or earphones.. make sure the ear device is very small where it's not too visible to the audience.

tip:2..CUE CARDS..a cue card is where someone sit in the front row of the audience holding a medium size card with your routine or skits titles written on it,so you can see what song or joke or magic or dance you're going to perform next..you can also sit the cue card in a empty chair 🪑 on stage or in the audience where it is in your eyes view.

tip:3. Write your jokes in the palm of your hand..I did this many times. it's not the jokes in full, it's the jokes title, I would do rehearsal time with three jokes, so I knew the joke,so I just look in my hand quickly to see the title such as 'grandma' or  'football'... when you go to look in your hand for the title of the joke don't be obvious, do it in a way where it's a normal movement such as rubbing your nose or touching your forehead or even adjusting your reading glasses or even using your Ventriloquist character for misdirection such as your Ventriloquist character asking you is that mustard on your hand, then you look at your hand.

tip: 4. I used this one as a beginner and amateur Ventriloquist, it was very helpful in helping me remember my lines and my stage show programs... use small paper notes, write jokes and songs and show programs on the small paper notes.. attache the notes to the back of your Ventriloquist character back where your hand is..if you need help on remembering a joke or song, etc..take a glance at your Ventriloquist character back... your hand is manipulating and animating and controlling your Ventriloquist figure, it is hidden from the audience or something like that, this area of your Ventriloquist figure is in operation and putting hidden reminder notes should be okay if seen by a audience member, simply saying if you're seen controlling the Ventriloquist figure the illusion of life is lost so what's the point in notes reminders being hidden..to keep your Ventriloquist skills of the illusion of life for your Ventriloquist figure study your Ventriloquist position if you are going to attach small notes to the back of your Ventriloquist character.. and please study the magician slight of hand.
