RECOGNIZING VOICES. ( for beginners Ventriloquist)

as a beginner Ventriloquist you might be sure of the tone that your Ventriloquist character should have, this class will give you some ideas on the voice tone that Ventriloquist character should be in when talking.
Your Ventriloquist character voice definitely should not be the same as your very own speaking voice because it might confuse the audience on who is talking such as the Ventriloquist character mouth is moving but the Ventriloquist voice is heard.

Your Ventriloquist character voice doesn't need to be normal sounding it can be a weird sounding voice... maybe your Ventriloquist character can stutter when talking, I created a Ventriloquist character name stutter box junior as a time filler for one of my many Ventriloquist acts, it takes stutter box junior two minutes to say good good good good good good MORNING! my very own voice was clear and direct when talking to stutter box junior, the audience definitely recognized the voice characters.

Try the buzzing sound of a 🐝.. get the bizzing sound in your throat, practice for a few minutes...then speak a few sentences in that buzzing sound, say I am going to eat lunch now then have your Ventriloquist character say the same sentence using that buzzing sound voice tone... Now I want you to remember not to put pressure on the buzzing sound because if you do the near voice become the distant voice that means your Ventriloquist character voice will sound far away so remember when you're using the buzzing voice sound your Ventriloquist character is called near ventrloquism and when you are throwing your voice into the next room it's called the distant voice, so the more pressure you apply for the buzzing voice sound the further the voice will sound to your audience ears.. practice on controling your vocal cords air flow. 

A high tone voice for your Ventriloquist character is a very good volume sound..a high voice is the sound of trying to initiate a Crow, the crows have very high pitched sounds or even the birds at the beach ⛱️ called seagulls, try to get the high pitched sound in the upper part of your throat or vocal cords, practice the high tone of the crows or seagulls.. say in a sentence of the high pitched sound my dog name is Joey then have your Ventriloquist character say the same sentence using the high pitched sounding voice..if you have a female character the high voice is standard use but your Ventriloquist character doesn't have to have a high pitched sounding voice..

A low tone voice is just that, low, the voice has very little pressure on the vocals cords and holding the voice down in the throat, this voice is slowly speaking not like the high pitched sounding voice, the high pitched sounding voice can be spoken very face by a Ventriloquist character with every word heard but the low voice is in bass music tone, it's close to a deep sounding voice... practice saying in a deep voice this sentence I can't remember my own name, now take a deep breath 🫁 then have your Ventriloquist character say in a slow deep sounding voice adding just a little bit of pressure I can't remember my own name.. keep working on fine tooning your Ventriloquist character low voice.                

with experimenting with developing the low voice characterization you can try having the low voice whining 😭 while speaking in the low voice again this is only for experiment not the developing of the low voice and if the experiment works out good for you then you have created a separate low character voice, remember the low whining voice is different from the low voice but are in the same category..a low voice is for many to use of many different personalities and the whining low voice is a voice character in it's self. in the whining voice this character is always crying 😭 and complaining about anything under the sun, "whining" is a personality... another note is the whining voice is a original high pitched voice, this experiment is for the low whining voice for creating a voice for a Ventriloquist character.

When you create the whining character voice successfully the audience will recognize the voices by characters, when the Ventriloquist character speaks the audience will believe the separation of identity.
