tips for Someone with a soft spoken voice.
A question asked about can people with a soft spoken voice become a successful Ventriloquist.
The answer to that question is here:
People born with a soft mannerism of speaking have low energy in the vocal cords, some people speak in a whisper voice, not quite a whisper but some what gentle sounding, this is called genetic, in the family bloodline of not raising the voice, it's a politeness in the personality of the genetics, such as expressing behavior and personality of such you can't tell when their angry by voice tones but they will express anger with words or actions..so yes soft spoken people can have a successfully Ventriloquist career.
a soft spoken person would be better to have a Ventriloquist character that is energetic even when the character is not speaking.
Most of the script writing should be based on the Ventriloquist character.
The soft spoken person should focus on character development.
I believe that the Ventriloquist character voice should be higher or even louder than the Ventriloquist voice and I believe that the Ventriloquist character should sing most of the songs in the act if the Ventriloquist act has singing in it not saying soft spoken people can't sing but in this case it's a Ventriloquist act and the vocal cords are a muscle πͺ so we want to put the strength in the right place meaning let the Ventriloquist character do the heavy lifting.
A soft spoken person in the Ventriloquist act should play it safe by mainly playing the authority figure role one hundred percent because we want to send most of the energy in to the Ventriloquist character..it would be better to feed the setup line then let the Ventriloquist character chew on them. Trust me being a Ventriloquist is a work out, after some performances you will feel like you just ran in a marathon.
Basically soft spoken people are just like everyone else but the vocal box is on energy reserve, they yell and scream just like everyone else but in the nature of their bloodline there is manners in the personality.
If you are soft spoken naturally then your best creation is a Ventriloquist character the opposite of your personality and you owning the authority figure role... just only for an example: your Ventriloquist character kicks! screams! and yells! and yes farts in public.
You as a natural born softly speaking person trying to maintain control of the opposite of you... writing your scripts for your Ventriloquist act is an example of that based, I can't tell you how to create your Ventriloquist act so that is just an example...
Your audience will see you in real life and they will see you on stage..off stage they will see and hear the real soft spoken person then on stage they will hear the soft spoken person in a authority role with a Ventriloquist character.
Do all your Ventriloquist characters has to be the opposite of you if you're a natural born soft voice? unfortunately yes, voices are identities and voices are characters, meaning two soft voices wouldn't be a good idea for a Ventriloquist act, it's the voice and same personality.. character development is creating a person.. voice changing is for the audience ears, if you have two soft spoken voices on stage during a dialogue your audience will enter defusion and that is not a good thing.
Take notes on theses instructions, practice lip control, work on character development, in character development write about all the things you don't like and all the things you do like, next is creating a Ventriloquist character the opposite of you.. unfortunately most of your Ventriloquist characters should be the opposition of the authority voice because most soft spoken individuals are not taken seriously until they KICK! YELL! and SCREAM!
