You might be looking for something to do after school or on your day off or something to fight boredom or even something unique and different...the art of ventriloquism is not only for show business or for entertainment the art of ventriloquism is greater than you can imagine the history alone ranges thousands of years yes thousands, the history has been recorded of the years B.C. 
If you like learning and studying the art of ventriloquism will for sure to keep you busy on that subject... You might ask do you need to become a Ventriloquist to have ventriloquism as a hobby the answer is yes and no, a ventriloquist is mainly a illusionist and a entertainer that is the yes part the no part is in the art of ventriloquism there are collectors of the art of ventriloquism and there are doll and puppet and dummy builders, there are sellers of ventriloquism products, there are teachers and instructors of the art of ventriloquism... every year there's a ventriloquism convention and many people that have ventriloquism as a hobby attending..at the ventriloquism convention there's many many different items for sell and not for sale, there are famous people of the Ventriloquism world maybe you could meet them in person at the ventriloquism convention...at the convention take advantage of rare collectibles of ventriloquism so all year long save up your money just in case you see something you want to purchase.
The art of ventriloquism as a hobby is not like having it as a career because it's not a profession as a hobby, as a hobby the art of ventriloquism will be for your fun and pleasure..as a hobby you can be a fan of a Ventriloquist that you enjoy watching performing and go watch all their shows and buy all their products and support them and be a cheerleader for your favorite Ventriloquists, it's a hobby that will fill your morning day and night with joy. 

Do you need money to have the art of ventriloquism for a hobby, the answer is no all you need is participation in the art of ventriloquism. 

Ventriloquism as a hobby can give you hours of joy in your homemade creativity if you don't have money to purchase ventriloquism items such as puppets, believe it or not you can make some very good puppets from a old pair of your socks...if you don't have money for ventriloquism books don't worry the online computers are full of information on the subject of the art of ventriloquism but I say if you can purchase materials then do so because you want pure quality writing materials... The library has much written material on the art of ventriloquism. I believe the best way to study the art of ventriloquism is from the artist themselves...if you're on a budget visit thrift stores and second hand shops to see what you can find on the art of ventriloquism.. there's many museums that you can visit such the museum of broadcast communication they have a Edgar Bergen original Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer snerd on display, the Smithsonian museum has Edgar Bergen Charlie McCarthy on permanent display.. you can visit the Hollywood walk of fame to witness Edgar Bergen star.. also visit Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy hands and feets in cement in Hollywood California..a beautiful grave site of Edgar Bergen in Inglewood California that many fans visit leaving flowers but what is truly wonderful about the grave site is Edgar Bergen and wife and Edgar Bergen mother are next to each other...the Vent heaven museum has a convention once a year... social media such as YouTube are full of Ventriloquists with the art of ventriloquism and Facebook has many Ventriloquist groups that you can join.. there's so much more to mention for you to have the art of ventriloquism for a hobby..my main concern is to show you if you would like the art of ventriloquism for a hobby it doesn't cost you any money IF you don't have any money..I visited Edgar Bergen star many times, I take photos of Edgar Bergen star each visit it was fun!
