THE SPEAKER VENTRILOQUIST SPEECH *****
being a Ventriloquist is not only ventriloquism it's also speech.. when you speak as a Ventriloquist yourself you want your words to be loud and clear for your audience to hear, you also want the audience to see your lips and mouth moving so when you are speaking with out moving your lips when your Ventriloquist character is speaking add a little bit of more mouth and head movement to your Ventriloquist character it will for sure add to the ventriloquism illusion...when you speak your attitude is you are smart and intelligent, but when the Ventriloquist character is speaking it can be the opposite because you the Ventriloquist are the authority figure... you are the communication to the audience not your Ventriloquist character this means the words that the Ventriloquist speak to the audience is golden you are the trustworthy person in the Ventriloquist act, if a audience member asks the Ventriloquist a question and the Ventriloquist answer who told you that? and the audience member says billy your Ventriloquist character told me that, I can't tell you how to run your Ventriloquist career so how you respond to that question is completely up to you, remember you are the authority figure in the Ventriloquist act, remember that you are a entertainer and most important you are an "ILLUSIONIST"...
When you speak as yourself the Ventriloquist you can speak as yourself, the real you but your Ventriloquist character should always speak in character.
When you speak before an audience a microphone volume can be very helpful in many ways..I did a Ventriloquist comedy skit using "the ventriloquism whisper" a none student of ventriloquism will be amazed by this illusion but it's a simple voice trick using the volume of the microphone... The microphone can also help you with your energy this means you don't need to speak loudly when you use a good microphone and sound system or equipment...
If you like to sing instead of speaking, I will give you a secret about ventriloquism and here's the secret: ( it is easier to sing with lip control than speak with lip control)... another secret is a dirty little secret and that dirty little secret is :have your audience sing songs that they know the word to, the dirty little secret is the audience is singing and you and your Ventriloquist character are following along with lip movement, it's a great secret to let your vocal cords rest, is it cheating? I can't tell you how to run your Ventriloquist career, there's no judgement in this school.
Ventriloquist speech can be jokes.. a ventriloquist speech can be poetry... a Ventriloquist speech can be storytelling... a Ventriloquist speech can be biblical...a Ventriloquist speech can be political...a ventriloquist speech can be singing... a Ventriloquist speech can be headline news...a ventriloquist speech can be gossip... a Ventriloquist speech can be on anything or everything you can dream of but before presenting that speech the Ventriloquist should daydream about creating the 'WHAT IF' on the that topic then write a rough draft, then write a script on the subject, then write a conversation then write that conversation into a dialogue bringing it together into a situation of entertainment adding jokes and comedy and music and songs and dancing and magic and so on creating a Ventriloquist skit building it into a Ventriloquist act.
Yes I will remind you a Ventriloquist act is from forty five minutes to sixty minutes sometimes it's 70 minutes...a skit is from thirty seconds to up to five minutes but most auditions ask for three minutes so it would be safe if you can create a Three minute speech. after you created Three minute speech and filled it with entertainment ingredients then you create another one and another one until you have forty five minutes or sixty minutes of entertainment material AND NOW you have a full Ventriloquist act.. don't worry all you need is one Ventriloquist act because I have seen professional Ventriloquist doing the Ventriloquist act over and over for many years same jokes, same song, same old tricks..I have many many Ventriloquist acts, I don't like doing the same thing over and over so I am always writing and creating new ideas for my Ventriloquist career..if you have a very successful Ventriloquist act from forty five minutes to sixty minutes keep doing that act but continue to create new acts just to keep in your file π️ cabinet... just to be clear in understanding what a Ventriloquist act is, I explain here, a singer have many songs that make an album and a Ventriloquist has many skits and routines that make a Ventriloquist act, that is what a Ventriloquist act is it's a "ALBUM" if you want to perform your first album the rest of your Ventriloquist career that is totally fine.
Writing your speech is all where it begins so don't rush take your time because it's going to take a long time to complete your first album plus don't forget your speech is going to need rehearsal time and some of your skits are going to be rewritten. Have fun and enjoy creating writing then enjoy having your Ventriloquist character bring your writing to life by speaking those words that you created.
When you watch a movie the actors and actresses are speaking from a writer script, the actor and actress are bringing the writers words to life, the movie director watch and imagine how the writers story should be told so you being a Ventriloquist are the director and the writer of a Ventriloquist act, your Ventriloquist character is just that a character in a act, a Ventriloquist act written by a ventriloquist, that Ventriloquist is a"illusionist"
something that a Ventriloquist dreamed up inside their minds is now in the physical world but not really.."not really" confused? "Illusion"..
the Ventriloquist communication with the
audience through the art of ventriloquism can give a wonderful experience..
Practice on pronunciation of your words mostly because you being the authority figure can correct the Ventriloquist character mispronounced words and the audience will not miss a beat of the act but when the Ventriloquist mispronounced words the audience will notice and the Ventriloquist character will need to come to the rescue.
