Here we will talk about how to use the moving eyes on the control head stick of the ventriloquist dummy... first let me mention the ventriloquist needs to get to know the ventriloquist dummy, this means some ventriloquist dummies mouth control might be in the middle of the head stick, some ventriloquist dummies eyes control string might be on the left side of the head stick so this means you need to study a particular ventriloquist dummy before performing with it or working with it...one mistake you don't want to do is pull the wrong string while performing with the dummy.

Moving eyes are very very realistic...the dummy that has moving eyes installed will help the Ventriloquist create the illusion of life. Moving eyes can help with voice throwing, yes it's a wonderful trick where the dummy is looking at the opposite side of the ventriloquist while speaking then the eyes look at the Ventriloquist while continuing to seem talk, it's called timing and rhythm and the voice seems very real to be coming from the dummy when it is moving in rhythm and timing with the eyes, practice is needed of this trick..yes it's a trick not an illusion. 

A ventriloquist doll with moving eyes help the Ventriloquist not needing to turn the dummy completely sideways to look at the ventriloquist, with moving eyes the dummy head can be slightly turned with the eyes completely turned to look at the ventriloquist. 

A ventriloquist doll or dummy or character that has moving eyes installed will help the audience keep a clear view of the dummy profile, this means face, mouth and body.

Eyes: eyes can look upward at the sky with out the Ventriloquist moving the head, I had a dummy when singing a long high note the eyes would look upward.... moving eyes can be installed to look downward with out the Ventriloquist moving the head stick, this is used for a facial expression or a emotion such as sad or shame or even looking for  something on the floor...no closing eyes or winking or blinking are not part of the eyes... 
Eyes that go around and round in a circle, is for comedy or the dummy being dizzy so this control button is operated by the Ventriloquist thumb turning the button in a circle on the dummy head stick.

A world famous ventriloquist mentioned in a interview on a popular show that he used a remote control to move a dummy eyes to spook a woman he was dating at his house, the rkpshows school of ventriloquism don't suggest ventriloquists dealing with robotics the suggestions would be puppetry meaning if you the Ventriloquist want to spook your girlfriend at your house at dinner time brain storm on creating the eyes of the dummy to move with the art of puppetry not remote control some day ventriloquists will be replaced by robots so let's not create ideas that can be used against us. 

If you own a ventriloquist figure that doesn't have moving eyes this is called "stationary eyes" and mainly all is needed is a moving mouth and a moving head.. head with moving mouth with a stick control, 'hard ventriloquist figures'.. moving eyes can be installed on  many stationary hard ventriloquist figures, there's many ventriloquist figure makers and dummy builders on the market today..
I prefer stationary eyes ventriloquist figures because I enjoy creating the illusion of life and I mainly focus on the script of my Ventriloquist act, and I add voice magic such as the telephone voice or the ticking stop ⌚ watch while my Ventriloquist character sing a high note for ten seconds, I place the microphone up to my Ventriloquist character heart so that the audience can listen to his heart beating 💓, and my one of my favorite is after my Ventriloquist character finish up his rapper music song we closed with the human beat box so I have owned many ventriloquist figures with animation parts and sometimes animation helped me alot, I even had a Ventriloquist figure where the ventriloquist skit was based on the ventriloquist dummy animation parts. 

Moving eyes is a first added animation some dummy builders will suggest that eyes be the first installment before installing other moving parts because inside the dummy head can be crowded or not have enoug room to add more moving parts so remember that the big head dummy has plenty of space inside their head.
