The art of ventriloquism is basically two of the audience members senses sight and sound so many years ago I created a Ventriloquist comedy routine using five of the audience five senses,see, hear, smell, taste and touch, this Ventriloquism comedy routine was an upmost hilarious experience for the audience.. understand that Ventriloquism is a illusion, the illusion focus on the eyes and ears, the ears hear the sound and tells the brain where to look. 

A talking 🦨 skunk is understandable standing next to a Ventriloquist but to actually smell the talking skunk is an absolute realistic experience for the human brain 🧠. 

Using the five senses Ventriloquism routine will create a real illusion for a human experience.. for taste I use joke candy, my main Ventriloquist character give a audience member candy, the joke candy taste awful but are wrapped beautifully 🤮, the joke candy are sold on the market today and safe to use, the facial expression that the candy eater makes are hilarious 😂, hearing and sound is the basic ventriloquism, for touch I have a walk-around skit where I use a friendly soft animal puppet that audience members can pet, as the puppet go out in the audience to talk to a few audience members, soft puppet animals such as rabbits or cats,etc.. a walk-around skit can be used for a warm up or closer or what ever you choose.

Writing can also turn your 🪵 wooden puppet into a real boy.
Writing a script that involves the five senses such as you giving your Ventriloquist character or puppet a physical exam. 

In the  script you check your Ventriloquist character nose, you check their ears, you touch the puppet arm and the puppet say 🤕 OUCH! 

giving your Ventriloquist character or puppet the eye test can be a very funny comedy skit.. when writing a eye test comedy skit think funny and be creative.. jokes can be found based on eyes and healthy eyes if you can not think of any of your own jokes... you can can make your own eye charts if you like to use props or purchase a eye charts, using funny looking reading glasses for your puppet would help the comedy, there's giant size reading glasses for really bad eye sight just for a comedy example.
