many many years ago a Ventriloquist act was a comedy routine made up of two individuals a straight man and a comedian, they were also called comedy teams such as Abbott and Costello or martin and Lewis also the adult audience comedy team were names such as Leroy and skillet playing both roles in a quick change in positions, time has changed in society where audiences has become very sensitive to comedy content so the comedy teams had to reinvent themselves for a changing in humor meaning once upon on a time yo mama jokes were  a style for comedy, shooting the dozens was a sport for comedy and bagging was a comedy weapon, if you are lucky you can find comedy yo mama jokes online today, there's still comedy roast around today but they are watered down, the purpose of a comedy roast is to have thick skin, you volunteer to be the jester punching bag for their punchlines, you are the willing participant to be the butt of jokes so how is that wrong, well, these styles of comedy are American culture so when new people arrive from another country a yo mama joke is culture SHOCK 😲 so I witness with my own eyes the cancel culture effect, cancel culture even enter the comedy clubs where you are over age 21 you can buy beer but you can't say curtain words or talk about a particular subject, freedom of speech was silent in the comedy clubs so I have that experience up close and personal... comedian Lenny Bruce became a controversy because of his comedy style... you may 🤔 wonder what is with comedy and society,well, I remember and I will never forget performing my Ventriloquist act at a comedy club the material was rated -R and very raunchy because Sammy my main Ventriloquist character is a raunchy character so the couple sitting in the front row seem to be enjoying my Ventriloquist act ,well, the girl was the guy with the girl asked her why are you laughing the girl said "cause it's funny" so here I leave you with a very important message...the message is: today a Ventriloquist act needs a authority figure because of the couple sitting in the front row while your Ventriloquist character keep the girl laughing you the authority figure can keep apologizing to the guy sitting next to her.
