✍️πΏ Writing your own scripts, writing your own material is as important as speaking with out moving your lips, beginner Ventriloquists only think they need to learn lip control.. writing your own material is part of the ventriloquism lesson...
When you write, think π€ about your Ventriloquist character as a real person, writing can lead your Ventriloquist character to having a life of their own, as you are in rehearsal with a script your acting skills will be polished, and the Ventriloquist act will not seem like theater play but a actual real life conversation and not like lines being read, so this means have a conversation even if it's a joke you're telling, speak the lines as if you are actually speaking to a real person and not like you're reading the ingredients on a oatmeal box, yes some Ventriloquists dialogue script sounds like they're reading and not having a conversation.. so remember write about topics and subjects that you really really really really really want to talk about.
___________SELF TAUGHT ________
Do you like pizza π?
Do you like cats πΊ?
Do you like baseball ⚾?
Let's take a look at baseball... in a conversation, not a joke but a dialogue the baseball chat will go like this π
(Home sweet home)
Ventriloquist: during the baseball game I seen your coach leave off the baseball field...
Ventriloquist character: he went to my house!
Ventriloquist: why in the world would your baseball coach leave the baseball game to drive to your house...
Ventriloquist character: to pick me up!..
Ventriloquist: wait a minute, I seen you at the baseball game on third base...
Ventriloquist character: yeah and when I was standing on thrid base the couch told me to run home so that's what I DID!.

Don't forget to give all your scripts a title.. this demo script above ☝️ the title name is (home sweet home)
Let's study the script, in the conversation the Ventriloquist notice the couch leaving the baseball game, the audience also begins to wonder why would a couch leave a active baseball game, as the Ventriloquist put himself in the audience shoes they follow alone as the Ventriloquist carry the audience to the punchline..the joke is third base is next to home plate so when the couch tells the Ventriloquist character on third base to run home the audience gets the joke...if you like baseball you will have knowledge and information in your mind about the sport of baseball so it will be easy for you to write down ideas that are silly and serious, write about true and untrue baseball situations, write about the do and Don't do or anything that you can think of concerning the subject of baseball or cats or pizza or anything you fully know or understand..line your lines up with blank lines, next fill those blank lines with your Ventriloquist character speaking lines or punchlines.
When you practice lip control that is actually called self taught... when you rehearsal your very own Ventriloquist act, skit, bits, routine, that is called self taught... when you read, write and study the pages in this school that is called π― self taught.
This school was created for the self taught students of the art of ventriloquism to become an original artist in the art of ventriloquism.
I can't tell you how to run your Ventriloquist career so I only suggest that you write write write write write write write write write write write write write ✍️ πΏ then study the art of ventriloquism then work with your Ventriloquist figure such as hanging out, chilling, relaxing together then practice working together freestyle together
no script, then practice lip control together then work on rehearsal of your script writing together in that order....
I suggest that you start out with the script dialogue first before trying any Ventriloquial tricks or voice magic such as throwing your voice or the telephone voice, maybe the easiest Ventriloquial trick would be double talk but a nice dialogue script is more pleasing for practice or rehearsal and even to perform for family and friends or a audience.. what about singing? well, the truth is a Ventriloquist singing with lip control is more easier than a Ventriloquist talking or speaking with lip control, my concern about singing with lip control versus talking with lip control is the audience, when you sing the audience is being entertained, when you talk the audience are being introduced meaning a friendship with a character or personality is being made..so if you want to sing it would be easier than talking and you might seem to amuse your audience, but us Ventriloquists no the secret, and that secret is it's easy to sing with lip control then talk with lip control.
Write some nice dialogues you and your stage partner will create a lot of friends, WHY? because of charm and personality.
