ACTING TIPS THEATER π ππ
the art of ventriloquism is theater...the art of puppetry is theater... the art of pretending is theater... acting is theater.
Theater plays... storytelling..drama.. comedy.. mystery, etc.
Writing a story then rewrite it into a script then edit it inio a dialogue adding bits and skits into the dialogue creating a Ventriloquist act.
after practicing ventriloquism, after practicing puppetry, you have a table reading of the script, after the table reading you go into rehearsal after giving the script a title.
In the titled script you should have a topic or subject for the dialogue, a dialogue is two people having a conversation and a Ventriloquism dialogue is "two characters carrying on a "PRETEND conversation" in the pretending conversation can be singing, jokes, magic, storytelling, mystery, horror, foolery, and anything you can imagine.
After you have written a script, I need to mention here, a script can be from five minutes and up once you get a script up to 45 to 70 minutes of material and content you have a full time VENTRILOQUIST ACT, under five minutes these script writings are called "skits" "bits" and "demonstrations" a demo can be 30 seconds because demonstration scripts are short samples.
Once you have your title script completed you go into rehearsal, in the rehearsal you pretend that the script is a real situation what ever the situation might be, let's say your Ventriloquist character teacher called you on the phone, how will your Ventriloquist character respond to that news and what will you as the authority figure reaction be...as you feed script lines to each other in rehearsal the script will developed along with your acting skills..
in acting it is better that the Ventriloquist take the long lines in the script.. sometimes the Ventriloquist character body language can help with acting.
The Ventriloquist character can also ignore the Ventriloquist like most youngster do with authority figures, most rebels are against authority figures so keep that in mind if your Ventriloquist character is a teenage type character during your acting, this means it might not be written in the script or apart of the script but it's an attitude position or stage position, here I will give an example, when you watch a movie the actors and actresses are not just sitting there talking to each other they're reacting without sound such as taking a sip of water from a glass while the other talking or looking out the window these are just little things that are not involved with the script or directing it's part of acting that helps the actor and actress deliver a realistic scenario.
