Ventriloquist dolls are ventriloquism small size up to 30 inches. 

A full size or semi pro Ventriloquial figure start at 35inches 

The inches between 31, 32, 33, 34, are border lines inches because some professional ventriloquists want to travel compact but have a professional size head so the judge is based on the balance of the head and body. 














A Ventriloquist doll can perform many stunts that a soft puppet or a professional ventriloquist figure can not perform.

Lester is a character created by Ventriloquist Willie Tyler..  Willie Tyler said when he first started practicing the art of ventriloquism he used a doll from his sister as his first Ventriloquist figure.. Willie Tyler said there's three sizes in Lester that he owns, he said as he grew in size from child to adult the size of Lester grew, Willie Tyler size the middle size Lester is in the vent haven museum. 
The Ventriloquist doll Lester was manufactured by the e.g. doll company. 
Lester is one of the few African American Ventriloquist dolls.. you might run a cross a Charlie McCarthy and a Willie talk but Lester is the popular with the most productions produced.
